Tetapi tahukan anda siapa M.A.W Brouwer…..?
Berdasarkan penelusuran Penulis Kota Bandung, M.A.W Brouwer yaitu Martinus Antonius Weselinus Brouwer. Ia lahir di Delft Belanda pada 14 Mei 1923. Meski lahir di Belanda, ia menghabiskan sebagian hidupnya di Indonesia.
Ia merupakan seorang Fenomenolog, Psikolog, Budayawan yang sangat dikenal karena Kolom-kolomnya yang Tajam, Sarkastik dan Humoris. Tulisannya sering muncul di berbagai media masa di Indonesia.
Terutama pada era tahun 1970-an sampai 1980-an. Dan salasatunya yaitu di Koran Pikiran Rakyat.
Ia merupakan Alumni Fakultas Paedagogi Universitas Indonesia pada tahun 1961. Setelah lulus, Brouwer menjadi Guru di Sukabumi.
Ia juga menjadi pengajar di Fakultas Psikologi Universitas Padjajaran dan Universitas Parahyangan yang turut mewarnai pengembangan ilmu Psikologi di Indonesia.
Ia juga dikenal sebagai Psikolog yang memiliki perhatian terhadap masalah keluarga. Hal itu terlihat dari sejumlah karyanya yang mengulas tentang keluarga.
Diantaranya, buku “Bapak, ibu, Dengarlah..!, Bunga rampai tulisan-tulisan tentang masalah-masalah keluarga” dan buku “Ayah dan putranya: sorotan psikologi fenomenologi”.
Tentu, ia memiliki perhatian yang besar terhadap tatar Pasundan. Ia menulis buku “Perjalanan spiritual: dari gumujeng Sunda, eksistensi Tuhan, sampai Siberia”.
Sayang, saat ia ingin memutuskan menetap dan menjadi warga negara Indonesia hal itu ditolak pemerintah. Hingga akhirnya Brouwer kembali ke negeri Belanda.
Ia meninggal pada 19 Agustus 1991 pada umur 68 tahun di Belanda. (***).
