Dua atlet ini adalah, Riandika Adil Pradipta dari SMA Negeri 7 Bandung dan Azfa Haifan Mufti dari SMP Negeri 5 Bandung.
Keberangkatan Riandika dan Azfa dilepas oleh Pelaksana Harian (Plh) Wali Kota Bandung, Yana Mulyana di Balai Kota, Jl. Wastukancana, Bandung, Rabu (14/8/19).
Plh. Wali Kota mengaku gembira, karena semakin banyak atlet muda Kota Bandung yang unjuk gigi dalam pentas olahraga besar berskala Nasional sampai Internasional.
“Pemerintah sangat mengapresiasi. Kami juga sudah bekerja sama dengan KONI Kota Bandung terkait pembinaan atlet muda,” ujarnya.
Yana berharap, dengan olahraga, para atlet muda ini dapat menyerap hal-hal positif seperti kedisiplinan dan sportifitas. Riandika dan Azfa diharapkan mampu menampilkan performa terbaik saat bertanding nanti.
Sementara itu, Manajer dari perwakilan atlet Bisbol Kota Bandung, Linda Mahdis berterima kasih atas atensi yang diberikan Pemerintah Kota Bandung.
“Ini membuktikan bahwa Bisbol itu bukan olahraga Ekslusif yang hanya bisa dinikmati kalangan tertentu,” ujarnya.
Sedangkan Riandika dan Azfa mengaku senang dapat tampil di ajang Internasional BFA U-15. Keduanya siap mengharumkan nama Kota Bandung di turnamen ini.
