Bandung, BEREDUKASI.Com — KEMBALI Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) memberikan Anugerah Doktor Honoris Causa kepada mantan Wakil Presiden ke-10 dan ke-12 Indonesia M. Jusuf Kalla pada Senin (13/1/2020) di Aula Barat Kampus ITB, Jl. Ganesa, No.10 Bandung.
Pada kesempatan tersebut, M. Jusuf Kalla juga, menyampaikan Orasi Ilmiah terkait “Mendorong Produktivitas, Meningkatkan Kesejahteraan Bangsa”.
“Saya ingin berpesan kepada civitas akademika ITB, agar jangan pernah berhenti melakukan dan menebar inovasi. Anda semua adalah generasi terbaik bangsa. Anda adalah lokomotif kemajuan, dimana bangsa ini berharap peran besar ITB sebagai inisiator dan motor peningkatan produktivitas,” tandasnya.
Adapun pemberian gelar Doktor Kehormatan kepada M. Jusuf Kalla merupakan yang ke-14 kalinya yang diberikan oleh ITB.
Rektor ITB Prof. Dr. Ir. Kadarsah Suryadi, DEA., mengatakan, bagi ITB penganugerahan Doktor Kehormatan ini memiliki arti tersendiri yang sangat besar. Terutama karena berkesempatan memberikannya kepada putera terbaik bangsa. Yang telah mendedikasikan kehidupannya bagi kemajuan dan kesejahteran bangsa Indonesia.
Dalam sambutannya, Prof. Kadarsah mengemukakan bahwa Indonesia akan mendapatkan Bonus Demografi pada tahun 2030 – 2040 yaitu Indonesia akan memiliki jumlah penduduk usia produktif yakni berusia 15–64 tahun. Lebih besar dibandingkan dengan penduduk usia tidak produktif yakni berusia di bawah 15 tahun dan di atas 64 tahun.

Sementara itu, ketua Tim Promotor Prof. Dr. Ir. Abdul Hakim Halim, M.Sc menyampaikan. Bahwa anugerah Doktor lHC ini diberikan atas Inovasi yang telah dilakukan untuk melakukan peningkatan Produktivitas sebuah sistem. Baik sistem itu berupa perusahaan, maupun institusi sektor publik dan pemerintahan.
“ITB memiliki kebijakan pemberian gelar Doktor Kehormatan dengan tujuan. Mendorong masyarakat dan bangsa Indonesia, untuk berprestasi dalam dan memberikan sumbangan untuk pengembangan ilmu pengetahuan, teknologi dan seni,” terangnya.
Prof. Abdul Hakim, juga mengatakan bahwa gelar Doktor Kehormatan ini diberikan kepada seseorang yang memiiki karya nyata. Yang mengandung nilai inovatif atau pemikiran dan gagasan. Atau penelitian dan pengembangan konsep-konsep yang orisinal dan mendasar. Yang terbukti bermakna dan bermanfaat bagi masyarakat, perkembangan kebudayaan bangsa dan kemanusiaan, perkembangan ilmu pengetahuan atau seni.
“Berdasarkan karya-karya Inovatif, Rekam Kejak dan kearifan. Serta ketentuan penerima gelar Doktor Kehormatan yang tercantum dalam SK Senat Akademik ITB nomor 43/ SK/K01-SA/2003.
