Purwakarta, BEREDUKASI. Com BEBERAPA waktu yang lalu, para peserta didik SDN 1 Mekargalih Purwakarta, belajar menanam padi dengan teknik Tabela. Biji/benih padi ditanam langsung pada media yang telah disediakan. Jenis padi yang ditanam adalah Varietas INPARI IR Nutrisi Zinc.
Berdasarkan hasil penelitian BBPADI, jenis padi ini diyakini banyak mengandung gizi. Untuk mengatasi Stunting dari pengkerdilan pada pertumbuhan anak-anak.
Sebelum penanaman Padi peserta didik diberi pengarahan, Tata Cara Budidaya Padi pada Ember atau Polybag.
Hal ini dilakukan karena jenis padi ini termasuk tanaman yang banyak membutuhkan air. Sementara lahan yang dimiliki oleh SDN 1 Mekargalih tidak memungkinkan, untuk menanam padi dengan sistem sawah.
Maka sebagai alternatif penanaman Padi menggunakan Ember atau Polybag. Dalam rangka Menguatkan Karakter peserta didik, pada kesempatan ini disampaikan pula makna Filosofis dari tanaman Padi tersebut. (Anto).
