Gelombang pasang dalam sehari terjadi dua kali, yakni pukul 08.00 WIB hingga pukul 11.00 WIB.
‘Rentang waktu yang panjang ini jelas membuat was was,’ imbuh pria Purnawirawan TNI AD dengan Pangkat Mayor ini.
Dijelaskan, gelombang pasang kembali terjadi pada sore hari pukul 16.00 WIB.
‘Meski intensitas saat sore jarang terjadi. Namun tetap menjadi sebuah ancaman,’ tambahnya lagi.
Dikatakan, dampak yang terjadi saat gelombang pasang air laut datang dan imbas airnya hingga sampai ke darat, akan mengikis tambak udang terdekat.
‘Ini sangat berbahaya bagi keselamatan tambak dan udang yang ditanam,’ jelasnya.
Kendati di sepanjang tepi pantai dipasang tanggul, namun tinggi tanggul tersebut belum maksimal menahan gelombang pasang jika datang lebih besar.
‘Suasana ini menjadi ancaman berat selain dari serangan penyakit,’ cetusnya. Dalam menghadapi suasana tersebut, tambahnya, para petani Tambak Udang Vaname mendorong Instansi untuk melakukan upaya pencegahan.
‘Kita bisa melakukan kerjasama dengan pihak terkait, dalam upaya pencegahan jebolnya tanggul yang ada akibat gelombang pasang,’ pungkasnya. (Ombik).
