Rektor memberikan apresiasi yang tinggi, dengan hadiranya “Sistem Administrasi Layanan Akademik” (SALAM), “Situasi sekarang untuk IT itu sudah seperti NKRI, harga mati. Jadi penerapan IT di lingkungan UIN Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung itu harga mati. Mulai dari tes penerimaan mahasiswa baru yang mengggunakan komputer, sampai pendaftaran Wisuda. Karena itu, saya sangat mengapresiasi atas terobosan PTIPD yang membuat aplikasi “SALAM”.
Melalui sistem berbasis teknologi, pengolahan data dan pelayanan akademik di Perguruan Tinggi. Dapat dilakukan secara optimal dan terintegrasi. Karena sangat diperlukan untuk mewujudkan pelayanan prima dan membangun “citra positif” kampus.
“Dengan adanya Sistem Administrasi Layanan Akademik ini, mudah-mudahan dapat memberikan keselamatan dari segala ketertinggalan. Sesuai dengan namanya “SALAM” yang berarti Keselamatan, Kedamaian,” tegas Prof Mahmud.
“Komitmen bersama dari mulai pucuk pimpinan sampai bawahan. Saya berharap, mudah-mudahan kita semua dalam menjalankan sistem administrasi layanan akademik menyeluruh ini. Mendapatkan keselamatan, kesejahteraan dan kedamaian,” jelas Rektor UIN Bandung.

Jika semua aplikasi tidak saling terintegrasi, maka akan terjadi pengulangan data, shariang data antar aplikasi akan berubah-rubah, alur administrasi rumit, menyulitkan maintenance data.
