Memang benar terjadi penebangan pohon di bantaran Sungai Citarum di Desa Manggahang Kecamatan Baleendah. Mengklarifikasi hal tersebut, alasan penebangan beberapa pohon tersebut. Termasuk untuk pengangkatan sedimen dan pengembalian kelebaran sungai citarum dalam rangka menghadapi musim penghujan”.
“Selanjutnya ia katakan, telah menyiapkan sebanyak 5.000 sampai dengan 10.000 bibit pohon produktif yang akan ditanam, diantaranya Vetiver yang akan ditanam di pinggiran sungai sebagai tanaman penahan erosi dan pohon Mangga, Rambutan, Dukuh dan Jengkol yang diperkirakan pada usia 2 atau 3 tahun sudah bisa dinikmati hasilnya oleh masyarakat setempat,” terang Dansektor 6.
Pohon-pohon yang akan ditanam memiliki ukuran ketinggian 1,5 meter sampai dengan 2 meter siap ditanam. Dan nanti akan disesuaikan dengan kondisi lingkungan atau lubang yang disiapkan.
