Badan Penanggulangan Bencana Daerah (BPBD) Kabupaten Pangandaran telah melaksanakan Uji Aktifasi Sirine Tsunami dan penggunaan aplikasi SIRITA.
Sedikitnya 4 Sirine Warning Tsunami telah di pasang yaitu di Kantor Balawista Pantai Pangandaran, Kantor Telkom Pangandaran, Kantor Kecamatan Pangandaran serta di Bojong Salawe Parigi.
Namun ada beberapa Sirine yang tidak bunyi yaitu di Lokasi Kantor Balawista dan Kantor Kecamatan Pangandaran.
Sementara Sirine Warning Tsunami yang berbunyi ada di lokasi Pantai Bojong Salawe Parigi, Kantor Telkom Pangandaran serta Politeknik Kelautan dan Perikanan.
Mengutip dari twitter BMKG, Stasiun Geofisika Bandung telah menyiapkan sarana dan prasarana. Untuk keperluan mitigasi bencana tersebut yaitu Sirine Warning Tsunami, WRS NG serta Rambu- rambu jalur evakuasi.
Bahkan BMKG juga telah memasang Sirine Warning Tsunami di sejumlah wilayah pesisir Selatan Jawa Barat, seperti Pangandaran dan Sukabumi.
Untuk Wilayah Sukabumi tepasang di tiga lokasi yaitu di Kantor Informasi Geopark Ciletuh, Towar Balawista Pantai Citepus dan satu Tower Balawista Kantor Desa Citepus.
Satu lokasi di Tower Balawista Pantai Citepus mengalami kerusakan, akibat tower tersebut roboh tergerus gelombang pasang yang terjadi pada tanggal 13 Agustus 2021.
Sejak tanggal 6 Agustus 2021, BMKG bersama BPBD setempat melakukan uji aktivasi Sirine Warning Tsunami.
Hal itu dilakukan secara serentak di seluruh wilayah Indonesa, seperti Sirine yang ada di Pangandaran dan Sukabumi.
Kegiatan tersebut dilakukan dalam upaya mitigasi bencana Tsunami. Dengan tujuan memperkecil risiko bencana yang mungkin terjadi.
