Panitia acara ini, Dr. Y. Slamet Purwadi, S.Ag., MA mengungkapkan, latar belakang tema ini diambil adalah mengingat bahwa kultur masyarakat saat ini ditandai dengan akselerasi teknologis berkecepatan tinggi. Dimana dalam keseharian kita semakin dikepung oleh The Conditions of Immediacy.
“Kesegeraan saat ini menteror tiap individu, membuat orang tergagap. Segala hal cepat menjadi kuno, cepat berlalu, bahkan sebelum sempat kita pikirkan, pahami, atau jalani. Ini wajah konkret “tekno-kultur”. Wajah semacam ini terbentuk oleh kinerja banyak pihak teknologi digital, kapitalisme global, sains dengan temuan inovatif spektakulernya dan sebagainya,” terangnya.
Kondisi high speed ini, lanjutnya benar-benar memporakporandakan secara langsung pengalaman manusia tentang waktu. Juga ruang dan secara tak langsung berdampak pada cara manusia memaknai eksistensinya.
