Ratna meyakini dengan menyayangi dan berkasih sayang akan membuat anak kita merasa nyaman. Bersama kita jadi tidak perlu cari tempat nyaman di luar yang kemungkinan justru tidak aman bagi anak. Banyak contoh kasus anak yg mengalami masalah pergaulan karena kurangnya kasih sayang dalam keluarga.
Menurut Penyanyi yang awet cantik ini, banyak Orangtua yang salah dalam mendidik anak, terlalu protektif dan mengekang yang pada akhirnya anak tidak nyaman.
‘Tidak memberi kebebasan tapi juga tidak mengekang. Aku menerapkan hubungan dengan anak sebagai teman. Kita harus punya waktu mendengarkan curhat anak, sebaliknya jangan segan curhat dan minta pendapat mereka saat kita ada masalah. Agar mereka merasa berharga dan dibutuhkan,’ paparnya.
Karenanya, komunikasi yang intensif juga perlu. Tapi tentunya dengan bahasa yang berkasih sayang
‘Misalnya Keisha telat pulang dari sekolah. Aku lebih memilih bahasa ‘De Echa dimana ? Mommy kangen’, daripada bahasa ‘De Echa dimana, sudah jam segini kok belum sampai rumah,’ kata Ratna panjang lebar.
‘Dengan begitu, pasti respon anak berbeda meski tujuannya sama, ingin anak cepat pulang. Nah, dengan bahasa yang berkasih sayang seperti itu, anak-anak akan merasa tidak nyaman jika saat jauh dari orang tua melakukan hal hal yang tidak baik.
